Description

A Colonial Revival house typical of the mid-1920s, this is a onestory, side-gabled, and clapboard sided residence. Brick chimneys are located at the north end of the house and near the center of the ridgeline. Other features are symmetrically arranged. A central portico is defined by Tuscan columns carrying a full entablature and pediment. Brick paving and steps characterize the open porch. The entry contains a six-panel door and is illuminated by iron and glass lanterns. Flanking the portico identical six-over-six double-hung sash windows are framed with shutters. The house is unaltered and in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Mrs. Helen Dougherty had this house built in 1925-26.
