Description
Set back from Euclid by a garden accented by a fountain, this is a one-story residence in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. The tiled roof is front and side gabled over an "L" plan facade. Stucco sheathes the structure. An ogive window and an arched opening pierce the face of the front-gabled, projecting wing. Paired casements overlook a patio from the recessed, side-gabled wing. An extension to the north contains a porte cochere. Unaltered, the house is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES t Most likely this house was built around 1930, when Ontario Colony lot 462, then planted in a grove, was split. By 1932 there was a house on the property. It was the home of Harry and Edna Brown and was pictured in the fiftieth anniversary edition of the Daily Re~ort. Mrs. Brown was a caterer and held parties in her home. More recently, the house was the residence of Henry Busch, judge and city attorney, according to local residents. (Note: information in the library suggests Busch may have lived at 1429.
