Description
Set back from Euclid by a lawn edged by a stone curb and dotted with mature trees, this is a two-story Spanish style residence. Tile covers the front and side gable roof and stucco sheathes the exterior. A front gabled, one-story wing faces the street and contains a large arched window on the left (south) and a band of casement windows on the right. Next a buttressed corner, a small patio occupies the southeast corner of the structure. The second story is set back and side gabled. Details include bracketed eaves and narrow vents cut into the stucco in the gable peaks. The house is in good condition and appears relatively unaltered. RESEARCH NOTES: George and Lilly Laidlaw had this house built in 1930-31. Laidlaw was a fruit grower.
