Description
A cross gabled roof covers this one-story Craftsman bungalow. The roof treatment is characterized by extended eaves, exposed rafters and protruding purlins. Below the vertical slats that fill the peaks of the gables the bungalow is sheathed with clapboard. The primary facade of the bungalow has been altered by the enclosure of a porch under and to the sides of a central front gable. A low stucco wall with a battered profile was the porch wall. The areas to each side of the porch gable are now covered by shed roofs and filled with windows. The bungalow is in good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: The assessment record shows that this bungalow was built in 1919- 20 by James H. and Cora B. Paulin. Paulin was a teacher at Sierra Vista Grammar School in 1922-23 and at Upland Grammar School in 1924.
