Description
Stucco-walled and tile-roofed, this is a one-story Spanish bungalow. Behind a stepped parapet, the roof is flat. The tile appears on a shed roof which marks a porch recessed across the southern half of the facade. Below it, an archway and a large rectangular opening pierce the outer plane of the building to create the porch space. The entry is located behind the arch while a pair of casements overlook the porch. On the north half of the facade a broad tripartite window is centered. Above it, diamond shaped vents formed of three pipe openings flank a rectangular vent. An effect of geometric shapes juxtaposed against blank walls is achieved by the design. In good condition, the house appears unaltered. RESEARCH NOTES: The assessment record clearly indicates that this house was built in 1925-26 by J.M. and Janet C. Banning. Banning's occupation was listed as "cheese" in the 1926 directory.
