Description
This "L"-shaped cottage has no recognizable stylistic derivation. It is gable roofed, clapboarded, and has a stone foundation. One-over-one double-hung sash windows are utilized. The entry is on the south side of the projecting wing of the "L" and appears to have been altered. The property is in fairly good condition. RESEARCH NOTES: Apparently this house was constructed by rancher F.A. Huxtable, who bought the property from the Magnolia Land and Water Co. in 1905-06. He lived there until he sold the parcel to E.A. Bowen in 1913. The house grew in stages: a single, linear wing on the 1907 Sanborn, an "L" created by a north porch in 1912, and the present configuration, plus the porch, in 1928.
